IAB Tier 2 Content Classification API

What it does

IAB Category Classifier predicts IAB Tier 2 topic labels from a URL, page text, title, domain, or keywords. Send one or more of those inputs, and you get a ranked list of category predictions back.

Use the top_k field to control how many predictions you receive, from 1 to 20. The response includes the detected tier and a predictions array, where each prediction contains a label and a score. That makes it straightforward to route content into ad categories, segment articles, or attach taxonomy labels in a CMS or analytics pipeline.

This is a good fit when you need to classify web pages, editorial content, or marketing copy into a standard ad taxonomy without hand-tagging every item. For example, you can score inbound URLs before storing them, or classify text snippets as part of a content moderation or campaign workflow.

The service accepts nullable url, text, title, domain, and keywords fields, so you can send whatever context you have and let the model predict from it.

What it does

Predicts IAB Tier 2 categories for the provided content signals and returns a JSON object containing the predicted tier plus a ranked list of category predictions.
