What it does
The Aadhaar validation API checks whether a 12-digit Aadhaar number is valid. Send the number as an aadhaar string in the request body, digits only with no spaces or dashes, and get back a boolean data field: true for a valid number, false otherwise.
Use it as the first check in an Indian KYC or onboarding flow. It catches typos and malformed input at the form, so the number that reaches your Aadhaar verification provider is one worth sending. That matters when each OTP or eKYC verification call is billed, and when failed attempts add friction for the user.
Typical uses for the Aadhaar validation API include customer onboarding for fintech and lending apps, employee records in HR and payroll systems, seller and partner registration on commerce platforms, and bulk cleanup of Aadhaar numbers already stored in a database. Support teams and admin dashboards can use the same call to check a number before editing a record.
This API validates the number itself. It does not connect to UIDAI or confirm that the number belongs to the person submitting it, so pair it with an authentication provider when you need identity proof.
Indian onboarding forms usually collect more than one identifier. Validate the address with the Indian Pincode Validation API, bank details with the IFSC Code Validation API, and the mobile number with the Phone Number Validation API.
